PAIN CONFESSOR To Record Two New Songs

January 7, 2011

Finnish metallers PAIN CONFESSOR are planning to enter the studio later this month to record demo versions of two brand new songs — "Never" and "Serpent Spine". According to the band, both tracks are "fast, heavy tunes with those kind of choruses that you have grown to expect from us, melodic yet heavy."

PAIN CONFESSOR's forthcoming recordings will be the band's first to feature the group's latest addition, lead guitarist Samuli Federley.

PAIN CONFESSOR 2011 is:

Markku Kivistö - Vocals
Mikko Kivistö - Bass
Tuomas Kuusinen - Guitar
Samuli Federley - Guitar
Pasi Laihanen - Keyboards
Mikko Laihanen - Drums

Upcoming PAIN CONFESSOR shows:

Jan. 19 - Klubi - Turku, FIN
Feb. 12 - Dark Winter Festival - Kotka, FIN

Three demo songs from PAIN CONFESSOR are available for streaming in its entirety using the ReverbNation TuneWidget below. The tracks were laid down in 2009 at the band's own studio, with the mixing and mastering duties handled by Janne Saksa of Studio Sound Supreme.

The demo features the following songs:

01. Red on White
02. Tarnished Halo
03. Hope

PAIN CONFESSOR parted ways with Megamania Records and is currently seeking a new label home.

The band's third album, "Purgatory of the Second Sun", entered the Finnish chart at position No. 15 back in March 2007.

"Purgatory of the Second Sun" was recorded at Fantom studio and was previously described by the band as "raw and furious."

PAIN CONFESSOR's "Ne Plus Ultra" single entered the Finnish national chart at position No. 1. In addition to the title cut, the single included a cover of SURVIVOR's "Eye of the Tiger", which had "gone through a serious metal facelift," according to the group.
